We therefore decided to apply for the Green Globe environmental management system and for the Blueflag international eco-label. Atlantic Leather was founded in 1995.  It is a spin-off from the tannery Lodskinn in Saudarkrokur, Northern Iceland.  The names Sjavarledur in Icelandic and Atlantic Leather in English are registered in Iceland for our ocean leather products.

Atlantic Leather offers tanned leather made from thin, yet strong fish skin, dyed and finished with various effects.  Our conservational methods have been developed by combining traditional tanning techniques with the latest technologies.   Our mission is to maintain the Icelandic tradition of making the best use of what we are allotted in life.   Using all parts of the catch in the most imaginative ways is both a new and an old concept in a harsh environment (fish tongues and fish cheeks are still a delicacy in Icelandic restaurants!).

Farmers Market – Iceland was founded in 2005 by designer Bergthora Gudnadottir and musician Joel Palsson. The idea was to utilize the unique Icelandic wool and other raw natural materials to create a line of multifunctional clothing and accessories for people like themselves, who like the outdoors but live and work mostly in the city. Elinora’s Royal Natural Snack was founded in 1999. We have a small factory in the fishing town of Hafnarfjordur that is situated about 15 km outside the Icelandic capital, Reykjavik.
About the founder
Elinora Inga Sigurdardottir is the founder and Director for Royal Natural Snack. She was born in Reykjavík, Iceland. She is married and the mother of four children. She has a B. Sc. degree in Geology but she is also a registered nurse and a licensed schoolteacher. Since 1997 she has been Chairman of the Icelandic Federation of Inventors. Mentis Cura is an innovative diagnostics company based in Iceland with history from year 2000. The company specializes in quantitative detection and early detection of CNS related diseases. Currently the focus is on dementia of the Alzheimer’s type and differential diagnosis in the elderly. Our technology is in clinical use at several reputable institutions in Iceland and Norway.

Mentis Cura is also developing a tool able to track the progression of Alzheimer’s and monitor treatment responders.

Bluewater Bio Ltd is an innovative company specialising in the wastewater business, offering new cutting-edge proprietary processes. We are involved at all stages of provision from plant design and costing through to installation, commissioning and training and, when required, the provision of operation and maintenance (O&M). We also offer consultancy services, including plant and process development, treatment works assessment, trouble-shooting and solution optimisation including water re-use.

Bluewater Bio can provide treatment plants under one-off or annuity purchase agreements. Annuity agreements allow Clients to procure reliable wastewater treatment without major expenditure by spreading the capital cost over several years. Such procurement would normally be accompanied by an O&M service, freeing the Client from operational responsibility. An O&M service can also be provided for one-off purchases.
